An exceptional bathroom
One of the most extraordinary spaces is the master bathroom, an exceptional space, carved out of a deep cistern used for collecting water and once used by the peasant family for their needs. The careful restoration has left the area intact so that we may still see, on its walls, the signs of the water that has been contained there for centuries.

Architecture
Original spaces that preserve the structure of a nineteenth century peasant house and rediscover its charm and architectural beauty: the typical barrel-vaulted constructions in tufo (or tufa, a type of limestone) of the Sassi, flank the areas dug out of the bare rock. The rooms located on the four original levels are furnished with details in stone and tufa and rustic wooden furniture, both original and built by local craftsmen, such as the small cradle and the stone bench.

Privileged position
Perched on the cave church of St. Barbara with the beautiful landscape of the Murgia Materana before it, it is certainly a special place from which to visit Matera and its surroundings. In the immediate perimeter of the Sassi district of Matera, a short walk from the city centre and the main places of interest. Ample parking and easy access through the street level entrance.
